The state visit was never actually scheduled - there has been fierce opposition to it in many quarters of Britain - and this trip is part of a working visit instead, meaning among other things that Mr. Trump will overnight at Winfield House, the USA ambassador's handsome residence near Regents Park, rather than at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle as a guest of the queen.

"He's come out of the woodwork now and I've seen it the last few days; there's huge positivity for what we've done here".

Ahead of Trump's arrival, the United States embassy advised USA citizens in London to "keep a low profile" during Trump's visit.

I'm certainly going to Turnberry and I'll see him there.

During a press conference before departing the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit for the U.K., Trump was asked how he feels about the planned protests.

It has been confirmed however that Trump will only very briefly visit London.

A spokesperson for Prime Minister Theresa May said Trump was "wrong" to share the videos.

Donald Trump's visit to the United Kingdom will be met by protests all over the country, including Friday's march through central London and a 6-metre blimp of the President flying over Parliament square.

Mr Trump is believed to be spending the weekend playing golf at his Turnberry resort in South Ayrshire, which he bought in 2014, although there has been no official confirmation of his plans.

He will then travel to Helsinki for a summit with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

The US President also won't be meeting The Queen at Buckingham Palace - instead meeting her at Windsor Castle. Separately, his wife, Melania, will visit war veterans and schoolchildren in a London visit accompanied by Philip May, the prime minister's husband.
