Now he's on his third team in four years after signing with the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced Wednesday.

"He came in last week, worked out". The two sides came to a contract agreement Tuesday and Griffin is expected to officially sign next week. He will probably be here early next week to sign the deal, ' general manager Ozzie Newsome said.

The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

The former Washington Redskins quarterback has reached agreement on a 1-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, who love the idea of having the 2011 Heisman Trophy victor backing up 10-year starter Joe Flacco. After the Browns released him after one year in 2016, he was out of football for the entire 2017 season. "We're always working to make our roster as good as it can be".

There have been several Redskins fans who did not like the way the team handled the former Baylor star during his time in D.C. For some, it was hard to cheer for the Burgundy and Gold and recently departed quarterback Kirk Cousins over the past three seasons. I feel like we got a steal.

"Very excited about it", explained Head coach John Harbaugh. He was on the practice squad last season and hasn't played in a regular-season game.

In his last season with the Cleveland Browns, Griffin suffered a shoulder injury in Week 1 of the 2016 season.

Griffin was great his first year, completing 65.6 percent of his passes for 3,200 yards, 20 TDs and 5 INTs.

RG3 returned in 2013 but was benched after throwing 16 TD passes and 13 interceptions.

In signing with the Ravens, Griffin is getting another shot at making it as an NFL QB, if only as a backup. "He really wanted to be a Raven".
