Salah can become just the third Liverpool player to score 40 or more goals in a season and is the Premier League's top scorer with 29 goals - four ahead of Harry Kane.

He told talkSport: "It's a hard one because I think everyone will think, "Oh, Roma is a great draw", but they're the one team out of all of them who Liverpool will be favourites to beat".

Liverpool went for him after his impressive goal record at the club and their decision has paid off so far, as he has scored nine Champions League goals in 12 appearances for the Reds.

"I've been involved in football for ages and I know how strikers are", the German told reporters in his Friday afternoon press conference, as reported by the Metro.

Salah welcomed the draw yesterday on Twitter by saying: "We'll remain opponents for 180 minutes but whatever happens we'll remain friends for life".

"We don't want change all the time". I love our history but it is not allowed for us to compare it constantly.

And Liverpool manager Klopp is relishing the club's return to the Italian capital in pursuit of their sixth European crown.

Liverpool will host Eusebio Di Francesco's team at Anfield on April 24th before visiting the Stadio Olimpico, the scene of their European Cup triumphs in 1977 and 1984, for the second leg on May 2nd.

"If we can put in performances like we did over these two legs (against City) then hopefully that's enough".

"I think they will think it is an advantage, but it all depends on the first result".

The Premier League goals accreditation panel reversed its decision on appeal after Kane claimed that Eriksen's free-kick had grazed his shoulder. So it's easier for them because they're always in front of the goal, but I play as a winger.
