Cowboys acquire WR Tavon Austin in deal with Rams

In addition to trading a number of their picks, the Rams also dealt Tavon Austin to the Dallas Cowboys for a sixth-round pick.

He figures to help replace the production of Dez Bryant, who was released by the Cowboys this month, and likely provide a spark on special teams. The 28-year-old spent his first five seasons with the Rams, but is coming off his least productive one.

Austin gets a fresh start in Dallas, which turned around and traded away fellow wide receiver Ryan Switzer not long thereafter.

The compensation heading to Los Angeles is only a sixth-round selection, No. 192 overall.

Needless to say, there's not enough positives or proven track record that shows Austin is capable of flipping a switch and being a quality fantasy player in Dallas.

Austin did have 59 carries for 270 rushing yards and a score in 2017. And while Austin does have game changing speed, he's averaging just 8.7 yards per reception for his career, which is another red flag.

They signed former Jacksonville Jaguars wideout Allen Hurns in free agency and also added Colorado State receiver Michael Gallup in the third round of the draft.

Tavon Austin now officially joins that group.
