President Vladimir Putin has insisted he wants to see the evidence that Russian nationals meddled in the USA election.

Putin had talked up Russia's "invincible" nuclear weapons arsenal, including an animation that showed what was fairly obviously the Florida peninsula being attacked, and making clear Russian developments are meant to circumvent USA missile defenses.

President Vladimir Putin has revealed a new set of developed weapons to be including devices that are resistant to interceptions from enemies.

"We cannot respond to that if they do not violate Russian laws", Putin told NBC's Megyn Kelly when asked whether Moscow would take action against the named individuals.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to Putin's speech by stating, "President Putin has confirmed what the United States government has known all along, which Russian Federation has denied: Russia's been developing destabilizing weapons systems for over a decade, in direct violation of its treaty obligations". Nobody listened to us.

Putin made the comments, likely to strike a chord with millions of nostalgic older Russians, weeks before a Mar 18 election that polls show he should win comfortably.

He compared Putin's address to former British prime minister Winston Churchill's 1946 speech in which he condemned the Soviet Union and effectively announced the beginning of the Cold War.
