Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening with a high fever and a severe cough.

His personal physician, Dr. Berkowitz, said that he believes the prime minister's symptoms from an illness he was suffering two weeks ago may have worsened due to not completing the period of rest required for recovery.

"To our dear prime minister, I wish you a speedy recovery. Be healthy!" wrote Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on his Twitter account.

"The prime minister concluded a series of tests and was released tonight to his home".

On Monday, Netanyahu and his family were questioned by police as part of an investigation into one of the corruption cases in which the he is a prime suspect.

"Thank you to all of you for your concern! Good night", he tweeted. The politician's doctor had previously ordered the 68-year-old to take a period of rest in order to allow his health to improve, however, he hadn't followed his doctor's orders.

So stated Israeli Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon on Wednesday when he signed a special waiver to cut through the bureaucratic red tape that would have delayed the transfer of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in time for Israel's 70th birthday celebration.
