Zinedine Zidane has tipped world football's transfer fees to reach eye-watering new levels amid reports Real Madrid are considering a mega-money move for Neymar.

Real were ragged early on as Takashi Inui, Kike Garcia and Joan Jordan all went close to giving Eibar the lead.

Ronaldo was denied by an inspired save by Eibar's Marko Dmitrovic, who clawed away the Portuguese's header following a cross from Gareth Bale.

With two goals for Real Madrid vs Eibar on Saturday, Ronaldo has averaged 1.7 goals per match over his last 10 appearances.

Ronaldo put Madrid ahead in the 34th minute after Luka Modric intercepted a ball from defender Aritz Arbilla and placed a ideal pass for the Portugal forward to control with his chest and fire in.

The visitors unsuccessfully sought the equalizer before the break, but all they got were several corners.

Eibar equalized in the 50th when defender Ivan Ramis broke free of Sergio Ramos to head home a corner kick by Pedro Leon.

Bale struck his eighth Liga goal of the season by opening the scoring in Real's 3-1 win over Getafe on Saturday, though his half-hearted celebration was also seen as a sign of his discontent at being dropped from the starting 11.

Ronaldo's bullet header from Dani Carvajal's cross in the 84th minute earned Madrid the three points.

Los Blancos continued to struggle as Eibar pressed and the home side were inches from taking the lead four minutes later when a teasing cross from Takashi Inui almost found Kike at the near post, but he could not convert.

The win has now temporarily closed the gap between Real and their fierce rivals Atletico Madrid to four points as Zidane's side look to stay in touching distance of the top two.
