Davis (ankle) has been cleared to play for Sunday's game against the Jazz, Andy Larsen of KSL.com reports.
Davis, who Gentry said Saturday would be a game-time decision, did not play in Friday's 116-97 loss against the Washington Wizards - New Orleans' first defeat since February 9.
The Pelicans' five-time All-Star forward Davis, who missed Friday's loss with a sprained left ankle, practiced lightly on Saturday and feels he could be ready for the 4 p.m. ET start. Will do some more stuff [today] and see how it is.
Davis is also celebrating his 25th birthday on Sunday.More news: France President Emmanuel Macron to arrive in India today
"He did some things today (in practice)", Gentry said. In the most recent game February 5, Mitchell was one of six from the field in 19 minutes, but it mattered little as the Jazz rolled to a 133-109 victory in New Orleans. "Obviously, we'll have to see how he reacts to it".
Since Cousins went down on January 26, Davis has taken his game to astronomical levels in leading the Pelicans' charge for the playoffs.
New Orleans star Anthony Davis had his first career triple-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocked shots in the loss.
Rondo has been offensively solid in the three games between the teams this season, averaging 14.3 points and 7.3 assists while shooting 58.1 percent and making seven of 14 from 3-point range.
