Turkey condemns terrorist attack in Pakistan

According to ISPR, the attack occurred in Kabal town of Swat district, almost 10 kilometres from Mingora city, where a suicide bomber blew himself up near military unit sports area.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Sunday attended the funeral prayers of 11 security personnel, including an officer, martyred in a suicide attack in Swat valley on Saturday.

The death toll could rise, the official said, in the attack as civilians watched the match.

The suicide bomber struck Saturday evening while the soldiers were playing volleyball after duty. The injured soldiers have been shifted to Kabal hospital.

The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack, "The Express Tribune" reported.

"God willing Tehreek-e-Taliban has started the process of revenge attacks", the group's spokesman Mohammad Khurasani said in the statement.

Security forces cordoned off the area and were searching for possible accomplices of the bomber, the military statement said.

The report said that the outfit noted that it was the second attack this month with more to follow.

Prime Minister Abbasi said the war against terrorism will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist from Pakistan.

The powerful explosion, which rocked the surrounding area, occurred in the Kabal region of Swat, a picturesque valley in the northern part of the country.
