Greater Noida: Startups, electronic vehicle players and the firms entering India were at the forefront on the 2nd day of the biennial Auto Expo 2018 here on Thursday, showcasing a range of products from scooters to bikes to cars. The EVs draw their power from a 216 Ah 16V battery pack which provide a total range of 130 km on full charge. The Mahindra e-KUV100 gets smartphone connectivity, remote diagnostics, cabin pre-cooling, location tracking and it even monitors your driving pattern and battery status. Electric vehicles are expected to be the star attraction. There are also scissor doors, which looks pretty retro and works really well with the overall design of the vehicle. But the highlights were the six EVs and two novel platforms for its passenger vehicles segment.
The company also launched its Made-in-India BS-VI Mercedes Maybach S 560 to continue Maybach's popularity in India.
Speaking to PTI, Bird Group Executive Director Ankur Bhatia said: "We have the technology in place for the vehicle which will be launched, as we have a 2-seater auto in Europe built with same resources". A Bengaluru-based tech start-up Emflux Motors unveiled India's first electric superbike dubbed as the Emflux One at the event. Tata says the Racemo will do 0-100 kmph in under 6 seconds.

It also showcased the concept of TUV Stinger, a convertible SUV. The booking for the bikes starts on Thursday at BMW Motorrads dealerships and the delivery will start by May this year.
The company plans to expand its portfolio to 15 products by the end of this fiscal as it looks to introduce new categories and variants in diesel and electric three wheelers. The mill is tuned to develop 13.6bhp at 8500rpm and 13.9Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm mated to a five-speed gearbox. It offers a wide range of 270KMs in a single charge. Honda is going to launch X-Blade in March 2018 and its Ex-showroom price can be 85,000-90,000 rupees.
Most of these vehicles will be working models that are two or three years away from making their way on to the road, unlike in other auto shows where electric vehicles are seen largely in concept forms.

Hero Electric also unveiled eight of its global products in India, at the expo and the company said it planned to launch these products in a phased manner.
