Damp day ahead, more heavy rainfall Sunday night

TODAY: Showers likely with a chance of thunder later in the day.

By the time this system moves out, we could see another couple inches of rain.

Most of the shower and storm activity should clear up by noon on Monday.

After a handsome day full of sunshine, and even record breaking heat yesterday, rain returns to the forecast today adn possibly a few thunderstorms. Flash flooding is possible where rainfall rates are high during storms this evening. "With an additional 1-3" possible tonight, and an already super saturated ground, flooding issues will likely arise. Our morning will see temperatures in the low 50s, only warming to the upper 60s for your afternoon highs. A cold front moved thru the state, which fired up the showers and thunderstorms. It will be windy at times with gusts around 25 miles per hour.

Tuesday will be sunny with a high of 55 and a low of 36. The dry weather continues Tuesday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 60s. Rain chances remain low, at about 30%. Highs Wednesday will top out around 60 degrees.

Severe Weather Team 2 said to expect rain through Sunday evening from Atlanta northward. Drier weather works in Friday and for the weekend with temperatures dropping back into the 50s.
