Jerry Van Dyke dead at 86

Comedian and Coach actor Jerry Van Dyke has died at the age of 86.

According to TMZ, Van Dyke died on Friday afternoon at his Arkansas ranch. She says they were involved in a auto accident over 2 years ago. and Jerry's health had deteriorated since.

The site also reported that brother Dick, 92, made a visit to his little brother during Christmastime.

Van Dyke first became known to audiences in 1962 when he began a recurring role as Stacey Petrie in his brother Dick Van Dyke's eponymous CBS sitcom. Van Dam assisted to Craig T. Nelson's Coach Hayden Fox as they oversaw the fictional Minnesota State University Screaming Eagles.

Running for nine seasons, from 1989 to 1997, the show earned Van Dyke four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Jerry Van Dyke's wife Shirley Ann Jones told the Times that his health had been deteriorating since he was in a traffic accident back in 2015.

He is survived by his wife and two children.
