DCSO was involved in a pursuit following an attempted felony stop. Of the five deputies wounded, one died.

Two other people at the apartment complex were also shot in the incident, and the suspect is dead, police said.

"Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance resulting in shots fired", the sheriff's office said in the post. "We are not giving numbers or status at this point, we are still working on getting the suspect in custody".

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office also confirmed that the gunman was shot, and believed to be dead.

The sheriff's office said that the suspect knew police were coming and began firing when they arrived. Authorities say one deputy on the scene was killed and four others have been injured.
