David Cassidy Hospitalized: He Is "Conscious and Surrounded by Family"

Actor David Cassidy is now hospitalized in Florida in critical condition with organ failure, his rep confirmed to ABC News.

Cassidy, 67, was rushed to the hospital about three days ago and is in desperate need of a liver transplant.

Other media sites have reported Cassidy is suffering from organ failure.

"The Partridge Family" star's health has been failing for more than two months, sources close to the family told TMZ, who was the first to report his hospitalization.

Cassidy revealed his dementia diagnosis earlier this year.

In February, he was a guest on the Dr. Phil show, and talked about falling on stage and forgetting the lyrics to one of his songs during an Agoura Hills, Calif. performance. I want to love.

Cassidy starred in the beloved "Partridge" series from 1970-1974, and the role made him a popular teen idol.
