According to reports by the Reuters, the social media giant Facebook Inc has launched a service using which US users will be able to order food and get it delivered to their homes using the app or website.

To order, users simply find the new "Order Food" platform on Facebook, which works on both desktop and mobile servers. If a restaurant offers takeout or delivery through multiple services, Facebook will allow the user to pick.

Facebook Order Food option has been in testing since a year ago, during which the company worked on adding more partners and address user feedback.

From local spots to national chains, Facebook would connect a user with old favourites and new discoveries and order food by checking the ratings by friends. Thanks to various food ordering services available online, you can get any kind of food delivered to your doorstep.

"For example, if you have an account with Delivery.com, you can easily order with your existing login".

If you spend a lot of time in the Facebook app, you can get some food while you're checking in on what your friends and family are doing.

It is not the first time that Facebook has integrated food ordering into the platform.

The move to introduce food ordering allows Facebook to keep users inside its app for longer periods, "instead of seeing users exit to other apps for common tasks, like ordering a pizza", according to Techcrunch. People already use reviews on Facebook business pages to help decide where to order from next, along with recommendations from their social circle. The feature is now gradually rolling out to US users for both the website and the Android/iOS app, and it's currently unknown whether it will make its way to other countries. But once a user clicks, they are transported to a third-party familiar service like Delivery.com or Yelp or Grubhub. But not anymore. Facebook has made it easy.
