Man United get Jones boost ahead of Tottenham clash

The Red Devils suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town at the John Smith Stadium on Saturday afternoon following first-half goals from Aaron Mooy and Laurent Depoitre.

Gary Neville believes Manchester United have a huge opportunity to recapture their title momentum when Jose Mourinho's side host Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.

"That's what happened. But after that we had a good attitude and we were even close to drawing the game, which is not so easy after playing bad the first 30 minutes".

"It's true we didn't create too many chances at Liverpool, and in Benfica we controlled the match but also didn't create as many chances as we would like".

Mourinho said after victory over Burton in the previous round that United would be better off without this competition on their itinerary, suggesting they would be fresher for Europe.

However, Mourinho believes his defender will be back in contention against Spurs.

The former Barcelona and England striker said Tuanzebe was "confident, quick, comfortable on the ball" and that he possesses a "real intelligence to his game". In the last two or three years they have improved a lot and they are contenders for everything; for the Champions League, for both cups and for the league.

The left-back started the club's first five Premier League games of last season, but a combination of injuries, a struggle for form and Mourinho's exacting methods have seen him fall out of favour.

"I think Jones will be [back] because, today, he was on the bench and he told me he will be ready in case I need him. Apart from that, I have no news and no hopes (for any other players)".
