The 18:9 format offers more viewing space and a better immersive experience while streaming videos and playing games.
The Micromax Canvas Infinity will be available for registrations beginning August 22, 1:30 pm on Amazon. The first sale will be at 12 noon on 1s September, 2017. The device comes with a higher screen ratio to enhance the digital experience with an edge-to-edge screen at an affordable price.
Micromax Informatics Ltd, a home-grown electronics company, has launched "Canvas Infinity" smartphone with 18:9 aspect display ratio at Rs 9,999.
Downloading and signing into Kindle using the Canvas Infinity will grant users access to 5 Kindle bestsellers worth Rs 375. The front camera is 16-megapixel equipped for taking video calls and selfies. They've also touted this as a gaming device, but with a Snapdragon 425, it may not go far in that department.
Micromax has made a decision to get on the wide screen bandwagon with the new Canvas Infinity. However, the screen resolution is just about HD 1440 x 720 (not even 1080p full HD), the display does look good, however, its bit pixelated due to massive 5.7-inch screen size. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. The company also said buyers will be eligible for a fix or replace within 24-hours at Micromax Express Service centers.
In terms of camera, the Micromax Canvass Infinity sports a 16 megapixel front camera and 13 megapixel rear camera.
Since the device has been launched in the sub-Rs 10,000 market, the company seems to be targeting the new adopters of smartphones, especially in tier-2, tier-3 cities, and rural areas. Micromax also says that the Android Oreo update is guaranteed for the phone. A 13MP shooter sits at the back, accompanied by LED flash and f/2.0 aperture.
In terms of connectivity, the Micromax Canvas Infinity is a dual-SIM smartphone that accepts two micro SIM cards using a dedicated dual micro-SIM slots.
