Samsung Galaxy Note 8 likely to make 23 August appearance

There has been numerous leaks on the Note 8's design and capabilities. There is not much information on the megapixels front, but it is expected to come with great performance and advanced features. Of course, they won't be identical, as the Note also needs to make room for the S Pen.

Samsung has officially confirmed the release date of its next flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 8.

SlashLeaks, a platform for leak lovers where users track and share leaks, has a new render of the device that matches gadget and accessory maker Olixar's Galaxy Note 8 cases.

One of the most interesting features of the new device is the Always-On display, which was visible in the photos. It also showed a blue stylus, a key feature of Samsung's Note line. However, it remains to be seen whether these speculations turn out to be true.

Best Buy will be retailing both the unlocked and carrier versions (Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T) of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and its larger model, according to Samsung's U.S. Newsroom.

Onsen added Samsung may even increase the price depending on market conditions at the time of launch. But it's expected the Note brand will live on and we're going to see its next offering very soon. This doesn't came as a surprise the smartphone will compete with the devices in the high-end segment, which includes the yet-to-be launched Apple iPhone 8, and LG V30. As for the Galaxy J5 2016, there's still no clear communication as to whether the device will be updated to the new OS, but the details should be clearer in the coming days once the Galaxy J7 2016 starts receiving the Nougat treat.

The Note 8 will "have little carry over from the Note 7 debacle, as we have had S8 and Note FE smoothen out the way during the past few months", said Kiranjeet Kaur, an analyst with research firm IDC. It's also said to feature an improved iris scanner for facial recognition.
