Wizards' Oubre suspended for Game 4 for knocking over Olynyk

Oubre was suspended one game without pay for charging and making forceful and unwarranted contact with Celtics center Kelly Olynyk in Game 3 on Thursday night. With Boston ahead 53-52, Jae Crowder missed an open 3-pointer, a common problem for him and the Celtics throughout this series. Before you point to the Bulls series to show how the Celtics are comfortable in a 2-2 series, take a closer look at what is happening, because that is a completely different scenario.

The Wizards have seen players suspended before during the playoffs. But with the series returning to Boston for Game 5 on Wednesday, he began to lobby for more calls after not going to the free throw line once. Even if it will still be tied, dropping game four and letting the Wizards tie things up at two a piece is conceding every bit of that control.

Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas (4) passes the ball against Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat (13), of Poland, during the first half in Game 4 of a second-round NBA basketball playoff series, Sunday, May 7, 2017, in Washi. They also didn't slow the Rockets transition game. "Keep pressing them, go up 50 if we can".

The onus is now on Thomas and the Celtics to adjust back for Game 5 and beyond. With two big leads in their loses in Boston, the Wizards still feel as though they can get a victory in Boston.

"It's on us to let this sink in and understand we gotta come back better, individual and team-wise", DeRozan said. He became the first player in National Basketball Association history not drafted in the first round to score 50 or more points in a playoff game, when he dropped 53 against the Wizards in a Game 2 victory.

"I understand all the stories of the past and I understand they've gotta talk about something with three days in between games". He wants more foul calls as the series continues. The Celtics have always been able to bounce back from very bad performances, but this will be their biggest test. Thomas was mad that referees allowed the Wizards to get away with holding and grabbing him but acknowledged the 26-0 run - not the officiating - decided the game. The tension in this series just adds another layer to the confidence winning this builds up, but the Celtics have embraced that environment all season long. Members of the Celtics medical staff anticipated the need to replace the temporary bridges, and are prepared at any time to do so.

"They obviously were locked into him the whole game, but obviously more so after the barrage of 3s", Celtics coach Brad Stevens said, crediting the Wizards for switching and sticking on Thomas off pick-and-rolls.
