Theo Hernandez is attracting attention from many of Europe's elite clubs including sides from the Premier League, but Goal has learned that the Barcelona and Real Madrid target wants to stay in La Liga next season.
The Frenchman, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid, has been absolutely fantastic all season long, leading to rumours of a high-profile transfer.
REAL MADRID are aiming to sign a couple of Galacticos this summer.
Atletico are understood to be very unhappy at the move, which unilaterally breaks a pact between them and their neighbors stating that neither would poach each other's players, but the Spanish press adds they will attempt to try and force the price up to around 30 million euros.
The reports come just days after Hernandez's agent revealed that his client was not close to signing for either Barcelona or Real.More news: Nigeria's president leaves for London health checks after meeting freed Chibok girls
"City could afford to pay both clauses".
"[Theo] will be the person who decides where he wants to go".
Atletico apparently tried to convince Hernandez, whose brother also plays for the Rojiblancos, to extend his deal with them, but a €24 million (R356 million) buyout clause allowed Real to pounce.
The left-back allegedly underwent the successful medical examination at la Clínica Sanitas - La Moraleja in Madrid on Monday morning ahead of the move, which is set to be announced after the Copa Del Rey final between Alaves and Barcelona.
